Dr Pe Myint, Union Minister for Information, received H.E. Mr. Bhim K. Udas, Ambassador of Nepal, at 2:00 pm at the former’s Office yesterday. During the meeting, they discussed matters concerning bilateral trade, tourism, bilateral cooperation for investment, democratic reform process of Myanmar and implementation of peace process.

Thura U Shwe Mann, Chairman of Legal Affairs and Special Cases Assessment Commission of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw received H.E. Mr. Bhim K. Udas, Nepal Ambassador to Myanmar, at the Hluttaw Building Hall in Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday.
The two officials discussed bilateral issues.

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Win Myint received H.E. Mr. Bhim K. Udas, Nepal Ambassador to Myanmar at 2:00 pm at the Hluttaw Building Hall, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday.

In the Speaker’s meeting with Nepal Ambassador, the two officials discussed bilateral relations and democratic transition. Also present at the meetings were Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U T Khun Myat and officials from the Pyithu Hluttaw office.

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Win Myint received Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal, Member of the Parliament and Former Prime Minister of Nepal, and party at the Pyithu Hluttaw Building, Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, they exchanged views on peace process, political experience and setting up a federal democratic system.
Together with Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker at the meeting were Deputy Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat and officials from the Pyithu Hluttaw Office.—Myanmar News Agency

State Counsellor receives Member of Parliament of Nepal

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received His Excellency Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal, Member of Parliament and Former Prime Minister of Nepal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw at (11:30) hrs yesterday.
Together with Former Prime Minister of Nepal, Dr. Thomas G. Walsh, Ph.D, President of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Mr. Ek Nath Dhakai, member of Parliament of Nepal, members of UPF and H.E. Mr. Bhim K. Udas, Ambassador of Nepal to Myanmar were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, they discussed and shared the views on peace building and national reconciliation as well as enhancement of bilateral relations in a cordial manner.—Myanmar News Agency

Courtesy Call on State Counsellor, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

Ambassador Bhim Udas paid a courtesy call on State Counsellor of Myanmar Daw Aung San Suu Kyi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 28 June 2017. HE Udas was accompanied by Attache’ Mr. Deepak Raj Niraula of the Embassy in Yangon.

 

Welcoming Ambassador Udas she expressed her best wishes for his tenure in Myanmar. The State Counsellor then asked how the peace process and the reconciliation aftermath the Maoist conflict were resolved in Nepal, and how it impacted on the young generation, in particular, their rehabilitation in the society. Further, she enquired whether the values of peace and reconciliation are encompassed in the academic curriculum for the knowledge of future generations.

 

Ambassador Udas briefly narrated the sequence of peace process starting from the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, regular consultations among the top and middle level leaders, presence and role of UNMIN for negotiations among the stakeholders and manage arms and ammunitions, and the contributions made by the development partners.

 

She also expressed her willingness to work together with Nepal for the development of Lumbini. She said that Myanmar youngsters will be interested to visit Nepal for trekking apart from the pilgrimage tourism. She then asked whether Pokhara has improved and enquired whether Mustang and Manang are open for foreign tourists. Moreover, she recalled her days in cycling in Kathmandu.

 

HE Udas appreciated the interest of Myanmar for development of Lumbini. He replied that Pokhara is progressing well to cater more number of tourists, under construction of regional airport in Pokhara, etc. He further said, Mustang and Manang are now open for tourists.

 

Referring her requests to other Ambassadors in Myanmar she suggested Ambassador Udas to tell about Nepal’s experiences on the peace process to the media.
